  • 1 tablespoon sugar Used to macerate the strawberries.

For the Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream Can substitute with Greek yogurt for a healthier option.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Assembly

  • 1 pound pound cake (or angel food cake), cubed Store-bought is fine, or homemade for a personal touch.
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional) Add for an extra special touch.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries and sugar, then set aside for about 10 minutes to macerate.
  • In another bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

Assembly

  • In serving cups or bowls, layer the cubed pound cake, followed by a layer of strawberries, then a layer of whipped cream.
  • Repeat the layers until the cups are filled, finishing with whipped cream on top.
  • Garnish with mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Serve in clear glasses or dessert bowls to showcase the layers. They can be enjoyed immediately or chilled. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
