Ingredients
  

Icing Ingredients

  • 3 cups 3 cups (345g) powdered sugar Sifted for smoother icing
  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 tsp vanilla extract Can be substituted with other extracts for flavor variations
  • 3-4 tbsp 3-4 tbsp of milk or water Use less for thicker icing and more for thinner icing
  • to taste Gel icing color For desired color shade

Preparation

  • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and 3 tablespoons of milk until well combined.
  • If the mixture seems dry, add additional milk or water to reach the desired consistency.
  • Divide the icing mixture into bowls for each color needed and stir in gel icing color gradually until the desired shade is achieved.
  • Transfer the icing into squeeze bottles or piping bags with small round tips for easy application.
  • Allow the icing to dry fully for 4-5 hours or overnight before stacking cookies.

Notes

Store leftover icing in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Stir well before reusing.
