  • 500 grams chicken, cut into pieces Boneless chicken can also be used.
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2-3 pieces green chilies, slit Adjust according to spice preference.
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • to taste none salt
  • a handful none fresh coriander leaves, chopped For garnish.
  • to taste none lemon juice For garnish.

Cooking

  • Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced onion and green chilies. Cook until the onions are soft and golden brown.
  • Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  • Add the chicken pieces, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and drizzle with lemon juice before serving.

Notes

Chicken chukka is best served hot. Pair it with steamed rice or soft rotis. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a pan over medium heat.
