  • 1 loaf French bread loaf For the base of the cheesy bread.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (like mozzarella, cheddar, or a blend) Choose your favorite type of cheese.
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened For spreading on the bread.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds flavor to the garlic butter mixture.
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional) For garnish and added freshness.
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise.
  • In a bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on both halves of the bread.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the butter on each half.
  • If using, add the chopped parsley on top of the cheese.
  • Place the bread halves on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing into pieces.

Notes

Cheesy bread is best served warm. Cut into slices and enjoy as a side dish or snack. Serve with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce. Leftovers can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days or frozen for up to a month.
